One sculpture to replicate the experience of eighteen years in one household. My household. I created this sculpture to convey a family dynamic and process my feelings about the house I grew up in. Ideally this piece would be large enough so people could walk through it and really experience the shapes and negative spaces I have created here. The steel’s edges and surface are purposeful indicators of a specific experience. Overall the piece continues my exploration of the human experience and the human identity as it explores the dynamic of one’s family. Naturally the family experiences one grew up with greatly impact their personality and how they present themselves. Therefore, I am using an exploration into my family and familial connections to learn even more about human identity through art.
